Lucy Merlin Aykroyd

a mother, grandmother, great grandmother,
end of life doula & wilderness rite of passage guide

An explorer of aging
of how aging can become eldering
and both become activism.

What it means to be an Elder,
(or ‘to elder’ as a verb)
and how it might be to die, consciously, with
acceptance and peace and love.

Transitions in life can bring with them astonishing gifts. Marking these moments with simple ceremony can help root them and bring them to life.

Embracing the natural world as teacher – is to learn from true Elders. A kincentric relationship with all that is underpins all I am.

Welcome to my website. I aspire it to be a place of gentle introduction to what I could offer you if you feel drawn to work with me. It is a place of exploration, not of certainty. I hold no answers but would be honoured to hear your story and support you at any point on your final journey.

Please go to the contact page if you wish to get in touch.

Thank you and happy exploring.

‘We are talking to ourselves.
We are not talking to the rivers,
we are not listening to the wind and stars.
We have broken the Great Conversation.
By breaking that conversation, we have shattered the universe.
All the disasters that are happening now are a consequence of that spiritual ‘autism’.

Lucy Merlin Aykroyd

A woman with curly, shoulder-length hair and glasses resting on her head, sitting in a wooden chair, looking out a window, holding a book, with a stack of books on a small table nearby.

I find myself here thanks to the guidance and wisdom of some extraordinary teachers throughout my life and with Wildwise , Animus institute and the School of Lost Borders . And to the astonishing twists and turns in the path that have come toward me.
